Reading the blurb and a few chapters from my indie published novel

Hi!

My name is Lily Bloom and I am an indie author. But you probably know that by now, since you're on my blog.

Here I am in my bedroom, reading the blurb and a few chapters from my debut novel.

Below you can find written the first few chapters from my novel and the link to my youtube channel where you can watch and listen to me reading some of my work.

To achieve my dream of becoming a fiction author, I have done everything myself, from writing the content to the cover design of this ebook/paperback. I hope you like it. :)

About my novel Velvet Touch

In the mood for something naughty? Luke and Allison Evans live a happy life in the wild and beautiful Carpathian Mountains. But when their lives are torn apart by a dreadful event, Luke is left on his own to try and make sense of his existence. With Hugo, his Chocolate Retriever as his sole companion, Luke chooses alcohol and old music to find oblivion and run away from pain. However, a storm changes everything again when it brings a mysterious woman with a baby at Luke's front door, forcing him to give life another chance. Not far away, Eve Darkwood has her own methods of dealing with life. And death doesn't seem to stop in her tracks for too long. And there's John, too, a man of many pleasures, broken and lost in his own way. Their lives will intertwine and never be the same again. ***** From debut author Lily Bloom comes a story of love, loss and all that the waves of life bring after that. With a massive dose of darkness, mystery and eroticism, and described by readers as "almost too hot to handle", "don't read in public if you have a strong blush response", "enthralling, great story that makes you read page after page holding your breath just to see what happens next and discover more about the characters", "I loved every second of it!", with "intimate scenes that are sensual and potent but with a shadow of sorrow hanging over some of them", Velvet Touch will leave a mark in your heart that is bound to last. This is a novel to be savored and remembered. Contains sex and violence.

For adults only.

Sometimes, what gives a man a greater purpose in life is receiving an exquisite release. Luke Evans ran his strong hands through the woman’s soft hair and kissed it, just barely, with his trembling lips. She was still on her knees on a pillow in front of him and he was still hot, wet, and strong inside her mouth. She licked his phallus gently, savoring the explosive seconds before he gloriously released himself inside of her. His cum tasted delicious and she wanted to sample every bit of it. Her lips were covered with it and her tongue moved up and down on them to taste it, to taste him more, longer. Her hands caressed and grabbed his love handles. She looked up at his tanned abdomen, smiled, and then went back down on him. “Allison,” the man called up. She kept licking and caressing his phallus with her tongue. His toned muscles were tense under the palms of her hands. “Allison, look at me.” The woman raised her face and gazed at the man. She smiled with the corner of her mouth. She gave him a narrow, mysterious look as if she were up to something, and then she turned back to his penis and started sucking on him once more. He was still strong, vigorous, pulsating with life inside her wet mouth. “Allison, I love you,” Luke whispered in a husky, rushed voice. “I… love… you,” he said louder, afraid she didn’t hear him. She caressed his balls, in an effective attempt to give him pleasure and calm him down at the same time. She’d tantalized him enough, for now, she decided. “I want to achieve great things this coming year,” Luke said later while lying in bed next to her, touching her naked shoulder with his fingers and kissing it. “And you will. I know you will. I can see it in your eyes; they’re full of desire, and purpose, and…. determination.” She dragged her index finger across his chest, saying that, and then rested her entire hand on the place where his heart lay beneath, beating steady. Yeah, Luke reflected, this is the right word. Determination. A determination to make the world a better place. He took her hand lightly in his own and kissed it tenderly. Their entwined hands rested on Luke’s muscular chest. The wedding bands on their fingers sparkled in the dim light of the salt lamp. He kissed her forehead and then ran his fingers over her lips and kissed her mouth. One by one, he took her white, plump breasts in his mouth, tasting her large nipples. He licked them, his tongue circling and tasting, and then he followed with his hands down her décolletage, past her tiny mole. He placed his lips gently on her belly and kissed it several times, in many places, covering the area with small kisses. He then went lower and lower, and every time his lips touched her skin, Allison sighed, and moaned, and whispered. As her heart was pounding in her chest, making a strand of her wavy, blond hair tremble, Allison pulled Luke’s hair and whispered: “Take me.” Luke licked his lips. His long fingers momentarily left her belly and went lower as well, grabbing her thighs and holding her gently in place. He touched her with the tips of his fingers, tracing invisible lines on her short, blond hairs. His toned chest heaved, watching her twist and sigh, filled with desire, under his touch. “I want you inside of me, Luke. Take me. Now,” she whispered again, rushed and flustered. Luke smiled, parted his velvety lips, and took her in.

Allison was right. He was going to achieve his goals by the end of the coming year, but he was also going to lose a lot by then. He just didn’t know it yet. That night was for joyous embraces and happy thoughts of things that ought to come. They didn’t know that some of the events about to come were also going to be excruciating, undesirable, and unforgettable. For the both of them. Neither of them knew. They kept on kissing in the night and the dim light of the salt lamp, pleasuring each other, caressing every bit of their skin. Life spent in the small village of Colbav in the Carpathian Mountains was good. Not perfect, but good. However, life was going to show them a new level of living. And dying. And everything in between. Great things were about to happen. Terrible things as well.

It was dark. There were no stars in the sky and there was a stench in the air. Rotten flesh, Eve thought. The only light came from a burning log in the faraway camp. An unusual, large crow dipped its beak in the woman’s dead eyes and then moved around her body. The severed head rested at the woman’s feet. Long black curls tangled with dry blood, and her mouth was tinged with a thick, red line. The cut was clean but fatal. The blood stained her white, ripped dress. The ravaged material revealed her marvelous shaped breasts, and her long legs and smooth thighs, now stained with mud. Her back was covered in marks left by lashes. Eve wanted to touch the woman, and she aimed her palm towards her right cheek, but as she leaned in closer to the woman’s face, the severed head opened its scarred eyes and moved them. They were dark, with a tinge of green. Eve screamed - a sharp, quick noise. Her heart hammered in her chest, close enough to break her ribcage. The severed head opened its mouth. The voice was rough, heavy with sleep and pain. “Save me,” it said. “Save me.” New blood poured from its mouth, dripping down on the woman’s chin. An iron grip held Eve in her place, unable to move. She couldn’t move, even if she wanted to. Her entire body was stilted as if cement had been poured over her. She was suffocating. Dying.

Eve moved in her sleep, her feet tense on the clean, white sheets. She grabbed the white sheets with a firm grip, and with her eyes tightly closed and her eyebrows frowning, she screamed, “Save me! Save me...” She then continued to moan, “No..no..no...” until, exhausted, she fell back deeper into the arms of sleep.

Eve woke up drained of energy. It was the middle of the night. She could barely move her legs and hands. She felt like a drowned animal. She reached for the pills on the nightstand and by mistake knocked down the water glass. Annoyed, she opened the box of pills and popped two in her dry mouth. She swallowed them but, failing to gain any energy, she closed her tired eyes and woke up several hours later.

The office lay in the shadow of the oak trees, and the sun was just setting. She had called previously and set a meeting, or a session, as her Dr. Holloway called them. She knew it wouldn’t help with her nightmares and she feared that they would only get worse. But at least she hoped to find out why she had them. And she was right. She was about to find out. With every session, as she laid on the long, caramel leather chair in Dr. Holloway’s office, she found out more. The more drained of life she was, the more she understood. The more nightmares she had, the more clues came to light, recorded in each session.

Another nightmare came. And another. And another. And another.

The warm sun hit them as they drove to the hospital. Luke gazed at Allison. She was glowing, and not just from the sun. She was carrying a new life inside of her. A new song will be brought into the world. Luke smiled. He’s got the world at his feet. As the radio played in the background, Allison adjusted herself in the seat, holding her hands on her belly. “How’s the article going? Are you done with it?” she asked, staring right ahead at the landscape adorned with snow. Millions and billions of frozen snowflakes dazzled from the fir trees as the sun shone on them. Careful at the road, Luke frowned. “Almost done,” he answered, gently tapping his thumb on the wheel. “You better be. You’re going to be pretty busy soon enough,” she said, winking at him. “No more detective work after this one gets published, Mister. Not for a while, not for a few months at least. You’ve done more than enough. Time to focus on this,” she said, gently rubbing her belly. “After this gets published, I’m all yours,” Luke said, smiling at her and her grown belly. “Yours and the baby’s.” “It’s a shame, though, isn’t it?” she said, a moment later. “What is?” “All these people who had their hopes high for this project. Now they will have to look someplace else for work.” “Yeah, it sure is. But at least they will know the truth before it’s too late.” Allison nodded and then she leaned in her chair and fell asleep.

Luke pulled over and parked the car. He rushed out and went to open Allison’s door, helping her to get out. The fresh, cold wind was playing in Allison’s hair as she stepped out. Careful not to slip on the ice, they walked slowly inside the building, talked to the receptionist, and then they sat down, waiting their turn. Soon, a white door with a worn-out handle opened and a woman in a white coat welcomed them inside. “Everything looks good,” the lady doctor announced, looking at the screen, and then at Allison. Luke and Allison stared at the screen, so intent as if they were hypnotized. “After all this time….we did it. You did it. You’re almost there now,” the lady doctor said, smiling and writing something in her notepad. “This is our song,” Luke said, holding Allison’s hand in his. “What?” Allison asked, smiling with tears in her eyes, beaming with light from within. “This. This wonderful, tiny bundle, with his small heart beating inside of you. It’s the most wonderful melody I have ever heard in my entire life. And I have witnessed some pretty amazing stuff, as you well know.” Allison placed her warm hand on Luke’s. She nodded and smiled at him, tears of joy falling on their cheeks as they listened for a little longer to their baby’s heartbeat.
